One Seed to go across Canada
I am taking a trip across Canada in April and One Seed is coming along with me, along with a frog called Oliver Green, a critter named Sally and a unicorn named Sarina. I hope these characters will become part of a series of stories that I will be able to share with children in years to come. Meanwhile, as I make my journey across the country they will be with me and take in the sights and sounds along the way. I'll be taking pictures of course.
I hope to be visiting a few schools along the way too, to present the One Seed story and song. Maybe I'll see you?!
Cheers

After research and wondering how in the world to make the Book and Song "One Seed" available on the Internet I have finally found a way!
So now, if you go to:
www.oneseedstory.com
you will see the links for being able to download the book as a PDF file that you can save and print out, and the CD with the Read-along, Sing-along story and song, as MP3s that you can listen to on your Ipod and computer.
I have made them as inexpensive as possible.
So the book alone is $5 US, the CD alone is $2 US, and the two together are $6 US. You will have to have your mothers and fathers help you out here. Finally I can say that children around the world can now read the English version.
It was quite a challenge changing the book from its original form to a PDF that can be put on the computer. But I am so glad that it is now done.
So I hope you all enjoy this, especially in the northern hemisphere of our planet as people start to think about seeds and spring and planting.
Enjoy.
In Hope for peace and happiness for all

One Seed Translated
One Seed has now been translated into Arabic. I will know in about a month if it will be accepted for publication.
It seems only right that a story about a seed growing on the desert should be in the language of the region that it came from - Persia and the Middle East. It was a Bedouin who gave me the story in a meditation. For this I will always be grateful.
So watch here for news on this recent development.
Also, I hope to get One Seed on the Internet as a download from my web site. This will make it much more accessible for people around the world.
Meanwhile, keep on sowing seeds.
In peace

Pictures and Answers

Here are some more pictures done by Ms. McCall's class at Okanagan Falls Elementary. They are the students' responses to the story The Whales Secret.
I hope you like the pictures. I'll put some more up in a week or so.
Meanwhile, enjoy the beautiful fall colours - gold, yellow, reds, rusts, greens and browns.
Until next time,
Rosemary

David Suzuki talks about our world

Hi Everyone,
Today I got to see David Suzuki in action, talking at a convention in Nanaimo. It was a convention on technology, communications and computers, but he spoke most eloquently about our planet and the care we need to give it - NOW.
He asked a very important question about how long it takes to replace the resources that we use each year. In general, he said, it takes about 3 1/2 years to replace what we use in one year, which means we are going into deficit with the Earth.
I then thought about the oil we use. When I do a One Seed presentation I often talk about plastic and where it comes from - oil. And where does oil come from? Little organisms and plants from millions of years ago that were crushed into the Earth's surface and eventually became oil. So how long do you think it would take the earth to replace the oil that we take out in a year? What do you think? Let me and other readers know by adding a comment at the bottom of this blog entry.
And do you think there is HOPE for our future? Should we act NOW to help the planet?
What are you doing to help our environment? Let me know, I would love to hear from you.
I look forward to your answers.
Like One Seed - we CAN make a difference!
Rosemary
